mp3 library

So my dilema is this. I have a very large mp3 collection
(approx 60,000 mp3s at present). These are organized and
stored on three external Maxtor 250 gig hard drives
connected to a fairly powerful PC in my home office. In
Windows Media Player 9 I have ranked about 7,000 of the
songs on a 1 to 5 star rating system as incorporated into
the Media Player software. I'm running 4 PCs on a gigabit
network at home. In the living room I'm running a PC with
Media Center Edition software. I'm using the ratings
migration plug-in to keep the same star ratings on the
Media Library on this PC as the one in my home office.

The problem is that there are other ways I have of marking
my files that do not have migration capability. For
instance, in my office PC I've used one of the "custom"
headings to label a song "Christmas Music. This way I can
sort by this heading then highlight all of the songs and
make a "Christmas Music" playlist for the office.

It is time consuming to go through such a large library on
a song by song basis to identify songs for playlists.
However, if I want the same type of playlists available on
my media center edition PC then I have to completely
rebuild them. There is no "playlist" migration tool so to
speak. I'm wondering how I can mark files in various ways
on my Office PC and have this data somehow be connected
with and imported into my Media Center Edition PC in my
living room.

Any help appreciated.

I can't help you, but perhaps J. River media center is a better solution.
