MP3 format?

Does windows (XP) come with some sort of software that will allow me to
copy a band from a CD into an MP3 format file? Where is it? What is it
called?

Windows XP will only let you copy to wma format. If you want to save to mp3,
you will have to purchase the plug in. There is other software out there
that will let you save to mp3. Just gotta look around. (kazaa)

Audiograbber's good and from Feb 9th it's free. Make sure you get the Lame
encoder as well, same site, for mp3's. Also some burning software, Nero for
sure, allows you to do this.

Try dBpowerAMP Music converter. It used to be free, maybe it still is.
Worked great for me.
