mp3 files

I have tried to insert an MP3 file into a pps. As far as I can tell it
appears to work. I use the insert sound function and go to the folder that
has the file. MP3 show as one of the supported file types. When I double
right click on the files, I'm asked it I want it to play right away or when
I click it. So far so good. Neither option will work when the show is
played. I'm trying to play on the same computer that I generated the show.
The OS is XP home addition. Any suggestion.

Go to custom animation > multimedia settings
tab and make sure you have checked " While playing...continue slide show".
Try it afterwards.

I found this answer to a similar question posted to day and it worked.

Try this test and let us know the results:

Go to Start > Run and type mplay32.exe. The MCI player will open. Go to
File > Open and locate the WAV file on your hard drive and then click on the
play icon. Does it play? Either way it will give us an idea of which
direction to take to help you solve the problem.

I used the info you sent to Peter C., but I selected the folder that had the
MP3 files. This thread actually belong to my original question about MP3 but
I mistakenly entered as a new posting instead of a group reply. Apparently
mplay32 didn't know where the MP3 files were. Does that make sense?
I know that I will have to link the MP3 files and that the paths have to
remain the same when I transport it. I using the pps for 5-8 grade science
classes at school so there is only one other computer I have to worry about

Thanks for the help
