Mozilla Firefox and Enternet Exploer stopped working!!!!

Okay, my first problem is that on the family computer, we use Mozilla Firefox
as our internet, but a few days ago, it just stopped working. You could
double-click it as many times as you want, and it turns blue, but nothing
happens. It double clicked it once, and left to see if it was just slow, but
I came back 8 hours later (after school) and nothing ahd happened. Our
computer is also a lot slower than usual. We now use internet exploer, but
it is still really slow. I went through and uninstalled anyhting that was
taking lots of space and hasn't been used in a long while, and restarted the
computer, but it dodn't do anyhting. I also unistalled and reinstalled
Mozilla Firefox, but it still doesn't work.

My second problem is that on my laptop, Enternet exploer stopped working,
but I don't have a second way to get on the internet, so I don't have any way
to get on the internet. It will go to Yahoo (my home page) and Google, but
it won't do anything else. I can' go anywhere besides the front page on
Yahoo, and I can't search anything on Google, because it says that the page
can't be displayed. My e-mail stopped working a few months ago, but
everyhting else has been fine. Now i can't do anything. My wireless card is
working and my brother's computer and sister's computer both are on the same
internet connection from the modem, and theirs works fine. Is there anyway
that I can get the internet back on my laptop, and Mozilla Firefox working on
the family computer? If there is, it is very appreciated.
Thank you for any help you may offer and taking the time to read all of this.

I should start looking for Ad-Aware and similar virus scanners - get them to
work on your computer - you seem to have a grip but never mentioned anything
about virus's

I have AVG to help and I use a Firewall and a router/modem and I still from time
to time get the odd unwanted interference.

At a very minimum get AD-Aware, AVG and Zone Alarm and get them to work for you.

You could try uninstalling it and reinstalling it. Can get it at:

Free virus scanner at
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=aff

Update it once installed and do a full scan of your system.

Free anti-spyware
1. http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/frt/0?prd=asf
2. http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php
3. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx
4. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybotsd/index.html
5. http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/sbdownload.html

Install the above and update them and do a full system scan. You can use all
the above on your system as only windows defender is always resident - i.e.
active.

That's probably because it is in your cache and will display even if you are
not connected.

Sounds like you have a problem connecting to the internet.

If you are using dial up, then you are not using your wireless... Sounds
like IE is working since it is loading. How do you connect to the internet?

You might download the above virus and spyware software on you
brother/sisters computers and stick them on a USB drive to install them on
your own. You might need to fix the set up of how you connect to the internet.
