Moving XP Pro to new Laptop?

I am purchasing a new laptop to replace my old one. My
new laptop may come with WinXP Home.

On my old laptop, I had seperately purchased WinXP Pro to
replace WinME.

Will I be able to just take my WinXP Pro CD and install it
over the WinXP Home on the new laptop? Or would there be
some kind of Microsoft anti-piracy measure to prevent me
from completing the installation?

As long as it is retail and not OEM, uninstall Windows XP Pro from old
computer and then install Pro on the new computer.

Since Home comes on the new computer, it is most likely OEM.
Normally OEM can never be transferred regardless the condition of the
original computer.
In this case your OEM Windows XP Home CD is a coaster.
