Moving windowsxp from one computer to another

Can I move my hard disk from one computer to another
computer and on that hardisk I have windows XP
professional. If I move the hard disk will windows XP
which is on the drive work on a different computer? My
present computer board burned up but my hard disk is okay.

it MIGHT work. but if you follow the MS EULA it would be
illegal. but whos going to tell
