Moving website to new computer

After being advised here that my "Frontpage has encountered an error and needs to close" faults may be due to trying to open my old FP2002 files with my newly installed copy of FP2002 (having moved to a new computer), I'd like to move my website to the new computer.

I've read about import vs publish and wanted to publish the live site to C:\. However, my hosting server is an ftp server and when I attempt to open it to publish the live site to my C:\ drive, I get the message that FP doesn't do ftp.

Is there someway to import an existing site, either from local disk or from a live site and still preserve shared borders, navigation, etc. This is a 100+ page community .org site and it would be a huge job to try to restructure it from scratch.

Thanks!

Try this:

1. Open the remote site in Windows Explorer.
To do this, open My Computer (or any other folder)
and type th ftp:// URL into the address bar.

2. Drag everything from the FTP to a new folder
on your disk.

3. In FrontPage, choose Open Web from the File menu
and specify the starting folder from step 2.

For this to preserve your navigation view, though, will
require some luck. Because a non-server-extended Web
site makes no direct use of the Navigation View
information, that information may never have been
uploaded.
