moving server to new hardware

I have a Windows 2000 server which is my Primary Domain Controller it’s
running DNS, AD and it’s also an Exchange 2000 server.

I need to move this to another box with new hardware.

Can someone help me with the step by steps?

Any whitepapers and or links would be great.

you would need to install 2000 on the new server, DNS, then install AD
then install exchange 2000, move all your mailboxes and public folders to
the new server
let it run together for a little while, then before removing the old server,
i would stop the exchange services first on the old server and see if any
errors show in the event logs on the new server. if there are, you need to
resolve those before continuing.
if not, then you can remove exchange from the old server.
also need to move all fsmo roles from the old server to the new one.
again, before removing the old server, leave it off for a while (or
disconnected) and see if any errors appear in the event logs of the new
server.
if not, then connect the old server, remove AD then remove it from the
network.

Here is some light reading:

www.sbsmigration.com (swing kit)

The Swing Kit is probably the safest method. However, you'll
have to pay for it.
