Moving PST File

I recently moved to my Laptop as my primary computer system. I need to move
my PST file from my desktop to my laptop.

Desktop OS is WIN XP
Laptop OS is WIN ME

I have tried to export my desktop PST while in Outlook, and import it on my
laptop while in Outllook.

I receive a message saying "the file is not compatable with this version of
the Personal Folders information service. Contact your administrator."

What do I need to do to move from XP Outlook system to ME Outlook system.

Your operating system is not relevant.
Your Outlook version might be.
Exporting and importing a PST file is never a good idea.
