Moving pst file from drive C to D

Craig

I need to free up space on my C drive and have moved my Outlook (1.7GB) and
Archive (.6GB) pst files from my C to D drive (D:\My Outlook\Outlook.pst).
The problem is I can't find how to redirect the default ( "mail delivery
location") to the pst on D?

Thanks...Craig

When you open outlook, it will complain that it can't find the file. Just
navigate to where you put it....

You didn't mention what version of Outlook you are using, but with Outlook
2002 or 2003, you can go thru the mail applet in the control panel to
correct. (Mail Applet > Data files button)

Move the files while Outlook is closed. Now when you start Outlook it will
nag for the file location.

oops... better warn you that the data files button does not reconfigure
archive settings. you would still need to visit tools > options > other >
autoarchive to specify the new archive location. (don't forget that each
folder in outlook can have different settings that the global at tools >
options > other > autoarchive)

Hello, Craig
I don't know what version of OL you're using, but in 2002 you would
go to File > Data File Management > Outlook Data Files, then Add a new/
desired location, Remove the obsolete one. Does this help?
