Moving Outlook 2003 from XP to Vista

I have just bought a new laptop with Vista. I have installed Outlook 2003 and
used Windows Easy Transfer to move all my data across. When I try to start
Outlook, I get a message "Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Could
not open item. Try Again" When I click OK, I am asked if I want to "open your
default file system folder. "When I click Yes, I get an error saying Outrlook
has stopped working. I have installed the rdcommended updates. Any thoughts
please?

Easy transfer doesn't work well for mail profiles. Close Outlook. go to
control panel, mail and create a new profile. point it to use the old pst.

Thanks for a quick response. I am now getting a message saying the .pst file
is not compataible with this version of the Personal Folders onformation
service. If youc an advise, I'd be grateful. Off abroad tomorrow and want to
take the new m/c! Thanks

make sure the pst is not marked read only. If the pst was moved using easy
transfer, do you still have access to the old computer? If so, find the pst
and move it to the new machine. If not, try using scanpst.exe on the pst.
