Moving OEM WinXP

P

Phil Cunundrum

I have a brand new computer I built.

I purchased OEM XP Pro with it. I have another computer with the OEM
XP Home on it.

I want to put the XP Pro on the existing computer and put the XP Home
on the new computer.

Is MicroSoft going to have a heart attack over this ? How do I get
the old version activated on the new computer ?

Thanks

Do it. MS may want you to re activate but it isn't that hard.

Technically, an OEM version is permanently tied to the first computer
it was activated on. If you built both PCs yourself, it can be easier,
if one is a built by a larger OEM, it will be tougher.
