moving a domain controller

I have a single domain single forest environment on
windows 2000 server OS.
I have one parent domain controller and one additional
domain controller. I want to move my parent domain
controller to a new computer.What is the surest procedure
for thsi situation.

Create your new dc, gracefully transfer the fsmo roles from the old dc to
the new dc and demote the older dc.
