I am trying to import video from my new Sony DCRHC30
digicam. The import seems to work okay (I see the images
in the preview window, etc...) but then the app hangs
after the dialog entitled "capturing video" appears.
The "time" bar goes all the way to 100% and the timer
counts down to 0 time remaining and then ... nothing. It
doesn't take the whole PC down with it (which is good),
but I need to use Task Manager to quit the app.

Any thoughts out there?

Joe,

If you're using a firewire connection, try the WinDV utility to capture....
link on my Digital Camcorders > Intro page.

If you're using a USB connection, you should be switching to firewire to use
with MM2, or capturing with your Sony provided software and converting the
file to something that MM2 can use.
