Movie maker

Everytime I try to add an effect between clips, the Movie
Maker program closes. I have all updates from MS and for
my video driver.

Try this:
The conflict with the divxaf.ax codec is today's single
biggest reason for MM2 crashing. Start with that one -
find it, rename it, and then test MM2. You don't need to
reboot MM2 or anything to test it. If that's not it, then
go down this full page. And if that still doesn't resolve
