Movie Maker Not Allowing Mini-DV import

Hi,

I'm trying to import files from my mini-dv disk into movie maker but this
message pops up: The file D:\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.BUP is not a supported file
type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker. How can i make it
work? Do i need to convert it somehow? And if so, how do i do it? Please
help! I'd really appreciate it
