I want to be able to save the movie for playback on a portable CD/DVD
Player but I do not have a DVD writer. What would be the best format
to save it in and how?

Player is Digital Labs DL730-PD

=============================
Most DVD authoring software has an
option to create a Video CD (VCD).
A VCD can be created on a CD-RW
burner using a CD-R / RW blank. Many
DVD players will play VCDs.

Some examples of authoring software are:
Nero, Roxio, ULead, InterVideo WinDVD
Creator, ProShow Gold, etc. The software
you choose must be able to create a VCD
and it must be compatible with the .wmv
and/or .avi format.

You would begin by saving your Movie
Maker project to your hard drive in a
movie format...wmv or .avi.

To save as a .wmv movie file...
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next / Next.
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

To save as an .avi movie file...
(and several other options)
Type...Ctrl+P to open the Save Movie Wizard /
Choose...My Computer /
Next /
Enter a Name and a Save Location /
Next /
Show More Choices /
Other Settings /
Open the drop window and choose...DV-AVI /
Next /
Wait while the movie is saved /
Finish...

(FWIW...the retail version of MS Digital
Image Suite Anniversary edition has an
option to create PhotoStorys from still
images and burn VCDs.)
