burning to a dvd from movie maker

i can burn my files from movie maker to a cd or dvd and they will play on my
pc. the dvd will not play on a dvd player for the t,v. what do i need to do
in order to burn a dvd so it will play my movies on dvd player on the t.v.

What version of XP do you have? Media Centre?
What app are you using to author and burn the dvd?
What settings do you choose?
Have you checked what types of discs your dvd player plays?

This program is great and easy to use its called Convertxtodvd, but the free
download wont work so you'll have to buy the program but it changes your avi
files into MPEG2 files that can be viewed on you DVD player it costs about
$40 or so but its well worth the money!
