Movie Maker & DVD

I spent all day making a movie with all my grandsons pictures and added songs and was under the impression that you could make a DVD with Movie Maker until I went to finish the movie and found there was no option to copy to DVD only CD. I though all of you were using this program to make DVD movies with captured video? Now I find I can't even watch it on a DVD player! Does anyone know of a program to make slideshows with that also lets you use a number of songs

you have to save as AVI first and after you import AVI
file to record on DVD format...
