Movie maker does not recognise my camera is attached

I've succesfully transferred from my camer in the past but now, with nothing
changing, i get an alert saying no camera attached. I've read all the
compatability notes and even deleted my other programmes (Nero) but it still
does not recognise my camera. Everything worked last time, I don't know
whats changed!
Can aanyne help me please?
