Hi,

I made up several presentations in PowerPoint 2000, all with movies. I was
able to keep the movies organized in a folder outside of the folder the
PowerPoint file was in. I think this was done with some sort of a plug in but
I'm not sure. Anyway, I bought a new computer with Office 2003. I copied the
presentations to the new computer and now they won't work unless the movies
are in the same folder as the PowerPoint file. This will cause me days of
work if i have to re-organize the movies. Is there a way in PowerPoint 2003
to organize movies outside of the presentations file folder?

Thanks,
SteveLow

Steve;

Have a look here.

Sounds/Movies don't play, images disappear or links break when I move or email a
presentation

Only if you can replicate exactly the path they resided in on the old system.
The drive letter and the full path must match exactly.

You might have been using our FixLinks addin (http://fixlinks.pptools.com) which
does let you put movies and sounds in subfolders of the folder the PPT is in.

If you've got the movies and PPT on the same system, it'd also help get
everything linked back up again. If you put the PPT and the movies in one
folder together, it should be able to relink them with minimal operator
intervention.
