when insert a movie clip (mpeg) or a sound clip (mp3) into power point, it
inserts it fine, but when i preview the presentation the sound clip doesnt
play. then i get to a slide with the movie cliip in it and the movie just
goes white. it does show the first frame of the video though. they are bothk
pretty small files. i think the mp3 is 500 kb. but they both play in wmp10.
and the sound also plays in mplay32.exe. so i dont know what the deal is.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks!

A common problem is that the path to the clip is just too long. Try putting
the clip in the same folder as the presentation and then inserting it.

Hello:
I learned via this forum to convert all sound files to .wav. Why? Because
PPT will embed .wav files and that's one less link to worry about breaking.
You might want to go to Tools--Options---General tab and change the "Link
sounds with filesize greater than" to 5000 just to make sure PPT doesn't try
to link your .wav file. You can experiment with different qualities, because
the wav file will probably be bigger than the mp3, depending on that quality.

I concur that it is critically important to make sure all files are in the
same directory before linking..... and that still doesn't guarantee success,
just increases the odds.
