Hi,I have a Microsoft wireless optical mouse,the red
light is on and off all the time when it is not in use,is
this right.I would have thought it should be off when not
in use.Please help.

Dunno, but my logitech one flashes away to itself even when the computer is
off!
 
Seems to be OK - Mine is on all the time- when inactive it is MUCH dimmer
