is the drop down window context sensitive? i.e. internet explorer commands in
list when in IE and dekstop command when on desktop? if so, dodgy button on
mouse (or dodgy fingers on button!)
anything relevent in the menu at all?
if not, sounds like you may need to clean your machine of viruses/spyware
etc etc
