Mouse

I have a compaq nx9010 and I recently did a computer restoration. Now I have
a feature on my touchpad that when I tap it, it clicks on a link, like the
left button would normally do. The left button still works but I want to turn
this feature off so i only have left and right buttons. My system is Windows
XP.

This is likely a feature of the touchpad driver. This can usually be
configured via the "Mouse" Control Panel applet.

The touchpad driver isn't under the "mouse" Control Panel applet. I don't
know where to look.
