Mouse Wheel Scrolling Behavior

G

Glenn

On my old PC running Win98 in Explorer, for example, I
could simply move the mouse pointer from one sub-window
to the other (left or right) and the mousewheel would
scroll the appropriate window -- WITHOUT having to first
click in that window. Now, on my new PC running XP, it
won't. I have to click first and then it scrolls.

I've moved the same mouse over to the new machine
(Intellimouse) and got the latest downloaded software and
drivers... still no luck. Before that, my Logitech MX500
mouse and its drivers wouldn't work either.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Hi Glenn - In Control Panel, open the TweakUI applet. On the Mouse tab,
check "Activation follows Mouse (X Mouse)" and (if desired also) "Autoraise
when Activating" (and set the delay). (These are my settings in TweakUI for
Win2kPro - they may be slightly different in XP TweakUI, but you'll find the
equivalents)
