Mouse weirds out...

I have developed a problem with multiple windows suddenly beginning to appear
on my screen and losing control of my mouse. These aren't 'pop-ups' but are
windows, like start button window or any icon that's on the screen that the
mouse seems to go over. When I move the mouse trying to 'capture' the cursor
like you have to do sometimes, whatever it goes over opens a window. I don't
know if it's a virus or not, I've scanned and nothing shows up. Could it be
a 'bad' mouse? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Check for spywares or trojans. Pop-ups are not the only "bad" category of
spywares.

Try to scan in safe mode or buy the cheapest mouse you can find and test it.
