I am trying to disable the tapping function on the mouse
that is on my laptop keyboard. I have looked in the
information for customizing my mouse in the control panel
and under microsoft support and help. It was disabled
earlier but I had to reconfigure my computer and now I
cannot figure out how to turn it off again. How can I do
this?

You need to load the mouse driver specific for the laptop. Go to the
manufacturer's website and download the driver for your model laptop.

Nearly all laptop touchpads are manufactured by Synaptics so this should be
the same on your machine as it is on mine. From control panel select mouse
properties. On the advanced features tab select settings. Highlight tapping
and uncheck enable tapping. Ok your way out and you should be set.
