I have a mouse that is not running right. The ball seems
to be sticking a bit and therefore my curser is jumpimg
around. It's really annoying. What can I clean the ball
with to fix this problem. Thanks Al

I highly recommend you get rid of your antique mouse and
get an optical mouse. They are very inexpensive and you
won't have this problem. If you insist on using the track
ball mouse then unplug it and turn it over. You will see a
plate that holds the ball in. This plate can be turned one
way or the other to remove it and to allow you to remove
the ball. You will then see four little bars that rotate
to give you the direction for your screen cursor. These
bars will likely have hair, dirt, oils and so on built up
on them. You can remove this buildup by scrapping it off
very carefully and gently with a knife or by using a Q-tip
dipped in alcohol and then gently wipe the buildup off.
Keep smiling.

I agree with everything except there's really no need to unplug the
mouse. If it's a PS/2 mouse definitely do NOT unplug it with power on or
it's likely to be bye-bye mouse port.
