I'm having a problem using my Microsoft Trackball Optical
mouse. When I use it with Windows XP or even Windows 98,
there are times when I click on something once and
somehow it'll think I've double clicked. I have it set so
I have to double click on something to open it, and I've
tried adjusting the mouse settings, but nothing's
working. I can't email Microsoft Support because the
product ID for my mouse has expired, and it pisses me off
that they do stuff like that.

If anyone can help me, please email me. Thanks!!

Irritating as this is, try with a different mouse. Perhaps yours has a
mechanical problem, in which case there is nothing to do except replace
the device. If another mouse works fine, then you know this is the
issue and not your software settings.
