I am visually handicapped in the sense that I have tunnel sight as the
result of glaucomia. I often "lose" my mouse pointer when it comes out of my
viewing area, and then I have to search the whole screen to locate it. I
there a way to get the mouse pointer in the center of the screen by a
keystroke? Thanks for any advise.

There's an option in Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options (at the bottom
of that page)
to highlight the position of the mouse, when you press the control key,
which may be worth trying

I'll include your reply in case anyone else has some other suggestions......

"Thanks Jon. I use this option, but still, when it is out of my sight I have
a problem. I don't see the circles."

Try the magnifier in the accessibility folder, it will at least show you in
a magnified window (at the top of the screen) where the mouse pointer is.
