Mouse pointer cannot be changed

Under Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer > Scheme, I tried to change the
scheme and received the message

the file windows\cursors\arrow_m.cur cannot be found.

I checked the \windows\cursors directory and it is empty.

What can I do so I can change schemas?

I am using a Genius Optical Mouse Net Scroll +Eye (Optical)

Thank you,

Carlos

Sounds like when Windows was installed on your system, the mouse cursor
schemes weren't included. You may be able to get them back through Control
Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components, but as you
haven't told us which version of Windows you're running, it's only a guess.
If that does try to go ahead, you may need your Windows disc to get it to
work. Hope that helps a little.

Thank you for yoursuggestion.
When I go to
Control >Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove Windows Components >
Accesories and Itilities > Details > Accessories > Details > Mouse
Pointers shows with a check mark.

I tried to uninstall the Mouse Pointers to re-install them.

When uninstalling, the program asked me for the file zClientm.exe. I
searched the Windows XP CD but the file is not there.

Please help,
Carlos

Try searching your hard-drive instead. Maybe it's been copied into a CAB
file somewhere.

The file is not on the C drive.

I welcome other ideas.

Thanks,
