Mouse pad doesn't work

hello,
I can only click on the mouse buttons by the touch pad in
my laptop. I would like to be able to tap on this touch
pad instead of clicking the buttons. How can I change the
settings to be ablt to do it? I found a driver called
alps touch pad driver. is it related?

You'll have to look at the website of the notebook manufacturer and download
the correct drivers for your particular make and model of notebook. Each
manufacturer puts different touchpads in their own notebook.
