Hi,
I tried to install Service Pack 2 on my home computer, however during
installation my computer crashed and restarted. When it booted back up i got
a message saying that things are unstable and that i should go into control
panel and remove service pack 2 (add/remove programs). i did this as it said
but once it had done and told me i needed to retart my mouse and keyboard
stopped working. I restarted by hitting the restart button on my computer
however the mouse and keyboard still dont work. I use a wireless mouse and
keyboard. The keyboard works on bootup as i can get into System Config by
hitting F2 so its not the connection. Its just wen windows loads up and I
have to select a profile it doesnt work anymore! please help :) Thanks

Hello , I had a mysterious occourance 1 week after a complete restore . XP
Home , SP2 . I lost keyboard function and "Pointer Options" and was stuck
with 'default' pointer . Started in "Safe Mode" {tapping f8 after restart }
ran scans searched and viewed for pointers in "Mouse" file , and found
nothing . Downloaded pointers from MS . No change . Niether retrieving
''Pointer Options " nor keyboard activity . ..I decided to cut to the chase
... I restored 100% again by Saving important data to a CD , /After saving the
data /#1 Insert the " Operating Systems CD /depress the power button to shut
down / Start / Continue installing OS / #2 Insert : Driver Recovery CD / #3
then install your Anti Virus software {Be sure to run a "FULL" A/V scan to
proceed ! / Insert or Download Spyware your spyware blocker/remover next .
Then continue with other softwares , SP2 etc. from that point . A/V and a
top notch spyware blocker is worth the cost , about $30.00 for a spyware
blocker . $75.00 for an A/V . Try building your pc in the #1 , #2 , #3
procedure . Good luck "Rooster"
