At my work we recently acquired new Dell machines with
Windows XP Professional. For whatever reason the mouse
jumps to another place on the screen. It is frustrating
when I am ready to click on a certain area then I notice
the mouse has jumped to somewhere else on my screen. Is
there some property settings or just what needs to happen
to correct
this.

Forget that link to the kb. It deals with laptops not desktops . My usb
mouse does it. Works ok if I don't install drivers. But its a 5 button
optical mouse and I want my 5 buttons. Nothing nicer than one little click
and command window or explorer window or whatever. You'll get used to it.
Sorry I'm not much help but I've been chasing mine and it's become a dead
horse, so I've learned ignore it. Mine always ends up off screnn and have to
figure out where. Just do a figure 8 with it.
