Mouse insert symbol disappears...help please

Jim

I use Word 2002, as it has always worked great for me.

My problem is that my insert symbol turns white on the Word page, and so I
can't see it or where it is.

I don't even know the proper name for it, but let's say that you are typing
in Word. Your mouse pointer looks like a regular "arrow" pointer, but when
it contacts text, it turns into an "I" shape, so that you can insert text
there, if you wish.

On my computer, it does not turn from an arrow into a black " I "....it
turns from an arrow into a " ". Basically, it turns white, the same color
of the page, so it seems to disappear.

How do I switch back to normal?

I've gone nuts searching for this on the web. All suggestions and comments
welcomed and thank you in advance. Jim

Hi,
Have a look at your mouse properties in the Windows Control Panel. Make
sure the pointer used for ´text selection¡ is the one by default for
Windows.
Hope that helps.

Robert,

I've been cursed by this problem for months.

I followed your advice to the letter.

It now works perfectly.

You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Thank you very, very much. Jim
