mouse freezing

when I open IE6....every minute or so...my computer
beeps...and my mouse freezes. this happens for about 5
seconds...then all returns to normal.
Also...when I open IE6..and go to a site...(dosnt matter
which one) and window pops up and wants me to sign into
adclick.com
How did I get this...and how can I get rid of it.

Are you running any Anti Virus software? and if so is it up to date?

You have spyware, get SpyBot Search and Destroy from
www.safer-networking.org or from the mirror site at
www.majorgeeks.com [click the spyware tools link]

Other programs are also listed on that page, Ad-Aware 6.181
from Lavasoft is also a good place to start.

Rickoh, run these programs to check for spyware/malware. After
installing update them, then boot into safe mode and run them. You
should run update and run them weekly.

Make sure you have a firewall active at all times. If nothing else use
the one built into XP, but there are a variety of free third party ones

Google and Yahoo both have toolbars you can add to your normal Windows IE 6.
display. I put them up and use their PopUp blockers. What the questioner has
are popups and I found the Google and Yahoo popup blockers work where Spybot
did not. My ISP also has one. Still, once in awhile one sneaks in, but can be
readily dispatched.
