Mouse driver not working

In working with Dell Tech Support on a seperate issue, my
mouse stopped working. I have trying multiple fixes, but
it seems the problem is in the mouse driver. The problem
seemed to start after we were on the Registry Editor
portion of XP. Does anyone know how I might be able re
activate the mouse driver on the OS? Thanks
 
So where do you go to find them when it's a microsoft
optical mouse? I cannot find it.
