Is there a way to mute the mouse click noise that comes
over the speakers?

Check your Sound(in Control Panel) and see if a program has enabled a sound on
mouse click. I have the option in Corel Draw, but you may have some other
progam that decided you wanted a sound whenever you clicked the mouse.
