Mouise settings won't stay after shutdown.

When i set my mouse pointer speed to fast, it only lasts during that session.
After the next boot-up, the setting reverts back to the default ( middle of
the scale ) setting. My other pc, also xp, doesn't do this. I'm doing
everything correctly as far as hitting apply then ok.

Remember that nobody can see your system from afar. The minimum
information to be posted should be the mouse type and brand. Some of
them come along with driver software, replacing the default control
panel Mouse applet with their own poor software. In that case, remove
that software and stick with a simple mouse being compatible with
standard Microsoft mouse drivers.
