Motorola MC9090 RFID Demo Application What port is read on? error

I am having a problem getting the Motorola CS_RFID2_Sample application working. I keep getting [Symbol.RFID2.ReaderException] = {"Connect Failed : ReadFile returned no data"} I tried Com port 7 and 1. I think it's supposed to be on 7?

Thoughts?

Is that application written in c#? could you provide some code?

Sometimes trying to reproduce the circumstances where the problem happens it points out what the problem is. There could be many causes not to connect, but it is quite hard to tell with no reproducible sample.
