Anyone know what this is? I get a box at start up that
sya "Motive Smart Bridge Updates are ready"..and a yes or
no box to install them.....What is it? Do I install?

Google Is Your Friend. Using the search term, "Motive Smart Bridge
Updates" I got several interesting hits. Here is a quote from one of
the links:

"Do you have Verizon DSL? If so it was installed by verizon. It is a
remote problem resolution software that I have read Verizon uses.
Disable it in MSCONFIG from starting up."

So if you have Verizon DSL, you've got your answer. Otherwise, check out
some of the other links from Google.
