Most performing anti-spyware soft ?

Hi,

I was victom of Trohan recently and I 'd like to know what could be the best
spyware product ?
I as already able to remove most visibles files running my pc in safe mode but
not trojans.

I tested 3 anti-spyware :
- WINSOS : is much much slower to scan my pc than paretologic, and display no
information, it is too simple, unable to skip some files, some messages are
cropped, don't delete much but it is free
- Spybot Search & Destroy : seems quite complete but identify cookies like
spyware as well
- ParetoLogic : is a demo, looks fine aswell with graphs and details, found
tens of trojans quickly, but requests a fee

Is one of these applications complete enought or do you have a better
anti-spyware (with some details, a dashboard, like paretologic) , either a free
product or the best under licence (FYI I already work with Kaspersky antivirus)
?

Thanks
Thierry

For Trojans why don't you try a-squared free 3.0:

What does your completely-up-to-date anti-virus program tell you?

For anti-spyware there is not a single product which is "best".
You will have to use (at least) two of the following products.

For anti-spyware look at (all free programs):

Spybot 1.5 (free)
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/

AdAware 2007 (many people prefer the previous version, 1.06r1)
http://www.lavasoft.com/

SuperAntiSpyware 3.9.1008 (free)
http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

AVG Anti-Spyware (free)
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-spyware-free/lng/us/tpl/v5

FYI I already work with Kaspersky antivirus

That should be ok (one of the best).

Thanks for your list. I downloaded them and I am trying them.
Kaspersky AV 7 detected well a "riskware"
but it was my fault as the trojan was hidden behind a video codex that I thouk
to be useful. It was Zlob trojan that installed in the vicinity tens of others
(that most freeware removed, excepted one trojan really hard to fight)..

I would be interested on how SuperAntiSpyware worked for you. Be sure to
update it's definitions first and then select to do a "complete scan'.
Thanks

How did SuperAntiSpyware work for you?

Weekly I run AdAware (now 2007), Spybot (now 1.5) and Super...,
but they never find anything (somehow I must do safe hex?).
In alt.privacy.spyware I read from time to time reports of
SuperAntiSpwyare finding malware not found by AdAware and Spybot.

I am about the same with SuperAntiSpyware. It only found some cookies that I
failed to delete.
Also, I did think enough of it to buy it.
AdAware and SpyBot rarely find any real threat either.
My system stays pretty clean.
I have heard others that really found SuperAntiBlaster very helpful and
thorough, even though theyt used the other two products also.
PS: I also use SpyWareBlaster
