Which of the following components is most likely to cause random system
freezes due to being faulty?

Which of the following components is most likely to cause random system
freezes due to being faulty?

This is to help me diagnose a system problem. Thank you.

You left off "None of the above"..........my money would be on the Video
card and/or associated drivers.
Heirloom, old and overheating due
to faulty fans/clogged filters should be in there, as well.

You left off "None of the above"..........my money would be on the
Video
card and/or associated drivers.
Heirloom, old and overheating due
to faulty fans/clogged filters should be in there, as well.

there's a reason i left that off, i've already eliminated the most
probable causes, video card and overheating being two of them.

1. It is mostly caused from slowed fan or bad circulartion of air in and out
of the case.

2. failing video display adaptor

3. incorrect drivers.

Hmmmm, and these weren't on the list?? maybe you should check again and
revise the list..........

there's a reason i left that off, i've already eliminated the most
probable causes, video card and overheating being two of them.

Ah, now that that is perfectly clear.......I'll cast my vote for the Power
Supply, either faulty or overloaded.

From that list, if given no other choices, the processor. Overclocking or
overheating may have damaged it slightly, causing random issues.

Before that, I'd suspect the video card, clogged or failing fans, or flakey
ram.
