My computer has no sound and when I go to the control panel and click on the
sound Icon it says that the item is working (although all the normal click on
items are grey and I'm not allowed to do anything with them. The cables are
good and when hooked to another sourse the speakers work. Do I need to see an
ear doctor ? also I am still waiting to hear how to stop the wizzard from
opoening and trying to find the cpi device. Are these problemsrelated ?

Did you mean: "pci device"? Yes, the problems are most likely When the
related. Did you recently reinstall Windows, or add a PCI card? For
some reason, some part of the sound card is not installed. Most
computers come with a CD that contains the drivers needed for the
different devices that came with the system. Insert it when the Install
Wizard prompts you. Or go to the computer manufacturer site and
download updated drivers for the sound card.
