More than one hotmail acct in Outlook 2003, just hangs there, waiting for instructions from Bill.

I have 2 hotmail accounts defined in Outlook 2003. It works fine for the
first it processes. But on the second it hangs (waits) just as Outlook 2002
did. Multiple hotmail support is one of the reasons I upgraded to Office
2003 Professional.

If I remove either one of the hotmail accounts, the remaining one works
fine. This pretty much satisfies me that each account is set up correctly.

My guess is that Outlook is not closing (Logout) its connection to the first
hotmail account and so when it tries to open (Login) the second account it
is refused. And so it just waits.

Is there a fix for this ? Maybe a registry hack ? Its inconvenient and
disappointing.

This is a new one - and I've had as many as 4 msn and hotmail accounts
working at once in ol2003.

Are you using Winxp or win2k? Do you log in to IM with one of the addresses?

VERY good question ! I do log into MSN Messenger with one of the hotmail
addresses. However that is not a problem with OE. In other words, I log
into MSN Messenger with the same hotmail address that I check mail for in
OE, no problem. A necessity due to OL2003 not handling that 2nd adder.

I'm using Win XP Pro, SP1.

I suspected when it broke in Ol2002 that it was related to passport/ IM
logon but I could never repro it. (I now use my own address as my IM logon,
not hotmail.)

I'm using Winxp, so that seems to eliminate the OS... beyond that, I have no
idea but it looks like you are the first to run into the problem. :)

I took your suggestion and logged into Passport/IM using my own address.
But... still
continuing to have the darn problem. Here is the exact message:
Task 'Riclf Hotmail: Folder:Inbox Synchronizing headers.' reported
error
(0x800CCC19) : 'A timeout occurred while communicating with the
server.'

As I said, if I remove the first hotmail account then this one will synch
correctly.

To me this sounds like OL2003 is leaving the first hotmail connection open
so that it just hangs on the open of the second hotmail account. hard to
believe I'm the only one experiencing this issue.

No solution was ever described. I finally removed the less important
hotmail account and put it into OE... a worry work around since 2003 was
supposed to support this. It does for some... not for me and some others.

I am also having this problem

I can get all 3 of my Hotmail accounts working fine on OE but only 1 works on Outloo

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hello out there...I have the same problem. Somethimes if I download the mail 2x I get all the mail. But this is a major pain. I have 1 Comcast account, and 4 hotmail. Also, sometimes mail ends up in the wrong boxes by duplication.
