There is clearly something wrong with my installation of XP. I have been
unable to make the logon dialog disappear when XP starts up. I've been all
round the houses, almost lost all of my data and now back to square one! The
situation I am at is this:

Windows starts. I am presented with the logon dialog. It is automatically
filled with the Administrator user name. I have to type my own name to access
my profile. How can I make MY account the default? I am not interested in the
administrator!

How can I stop XP asking for a password? Seems impossible. I've tried
everything.

How can I get XP to use the 'Welcome Screen'? If I try to enable this, XP
just hangs.

Beginning to think I should get a Mac!

I have read the explanation Sounds good but could you please be a bit
more specific about the use of MSCONFIG
