I am trying to upload a web that I created in FP2003 to http://localhost but
I am getting the following error message.
The folder "/" is marked executable. You are not allowed to put files into
an executable folder on this web.
I went to the MS site http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q219110/ and it says
to Configure the execute permissions for scripts only, and then click Apply.
I did that and when I do, and try to publish, it cant find the page. In the
workaround in this same article it says to click the server extensions tab
under properties for the ISS web and then Click to select the "Allow authors
to upload executables check box"
I do not have this check box or anything like that? Any more ideas?

What version of the FrontPage Server Extensions is installed?

If it's the FrontPage 2002 Server Extensions, right-click the Web server's
entry in IIS, choose All Tasks, and then click Check Server Extensions 2002.

Yes, I have the FP2002 extensions and when I clicked on "check server
extensions" it opened a garbled page so I figured they must be corrupted and
re-installed the FP2002 extensions. This ran a repair of the extensions and
everything is fine now. Thanks for your help.

You have to install/start Index Server and create a catalog, also under IIS, for the root web make
sure Indexing is enabled, however Index Server will slow your machine down unless you disable it for
all folders but the web site.

How do I install/start index server?
Where under IIS for the root web will I find Indexing?
How do I disable it for all folders but the web site?

If it is on your PC
- Right click My Computer on your desktop and select Manage - Services and applications

Thanks for the link. It looks a bit much but I will have a go at it.
