More freeware

In order to eliminate all shareware from my PC, I'm looking for a
freeware version of:

A PDF editor or a PDF to RTF converter

A compressor that creates RAR files

An audio converter (I've tried media coder but doesn't work at all, it
crashes every time I try to use it)

Thanks in advance

There will never, ever, EVER be a freeware PDF editor OR a PDF to RTF
converter.

Trust me on this.

Yes, it might be possible.

Another doubt, does anyone know any free Real audio to mp3 encoder (or
converter, I'm not that familiar to this words), because mediacoder
doesn't seem to be working at all.

Thanx

It could happen if US Government steps in and declare certain technology
important and hence be freely available... :)

PDF995 ain't freeware, I think it's shareware, 'cause it displays signs
saying: "$xx to register". I don't think freeware is intented by that.
Just as Morpheus.

I've tried dB power amp and works great. Is there a free version and a
non-free version of this program? The version on the link seems to be
free, but the newest isn't.

For at least two reasons:

(1) PDF files are not SUPPOSED to be easy to edit. That is part of
their peculiar "charm." So if you want to edit one, you should be
prepared to shell out good money for a sophisticated program, or else
resort to a command line "hacking" tool like pdftk (which is about as
close as we'll ever get to a free PDF editor). If folks wanted their
files to be easy to edit, they would've written them in something like
Microsoft Word or HTML instead of PDF.

(2) Learning the PDF file specs is, by all accounts, a formidable
endeavor involving a lot of time and devotion. Any programmer clever
enough to learn the PDF specs is likely clever enough to want to make
money.

Of course, if someone ever proves me wrong I will happily admit it.
