More frames per second

Anybody know how to playback in edit mode at more than 30 frames per second?
We are trying to get pictures of bikes exactly at the finish line, but a bike
traveling 30 mph covers over a foot in a 1/30 th of a second.

You get whatever your camera will record. If you multiply the frames per
second by two in a program (which in WMM I don't think you can do) you would
just get two frames with the same image.

You need a camera that runs at a much higher speed to do "photo finish"
video capture. Don't think these will be cheap. I did have an old VCR
camera that would record in slow motion. All slow motion really is is the
camera recording to the tape faster than normal and when it is played back
at normal speed the action is slowed down. If your camera has the
capability to record in slow motion this would be your answer.

Movie Maker shows every other frame.... to see each frame, put the clip on
the timeline and apply the Slow Down - Half effect.

Thanks for the reply. We have a pretty new camera, one of the few that still
has manual settings, and the max is 8000 frames per second. We typically run
it on manual between 750 and 1500 fps, but that doesn't seem to impact the
playback speed on Movie Maker
